Ian Hillis
Ian is the Head of Product for Platforms at Global Payments, where he leads product across the company’s integrated and embedded business serving software platforms. His remit spans a broad set of partner models, capabilities, and markets—including platforms like Payrix and PayFac—with product leadership spanning multiple geographies. He is responsible for shaping product strategy and driving execution across segment and domain teams.
He specializes in vertical SaaS and software-led payments models, with a focus on how platforms embed payments and financial services into their core go-to-market to create a more complete, differentiated ecosystem around their customers. His work centers on helping platforms launch, optimize, and scale financial services in ways that match their stage and ambitions—bringing new capabilities to market with minimal lift and making financial services a natural extension of the software experience. He has led the development of embedded finance capabilities that enable this shift at scale.
Before stepping into this role, Ian led Growth for the platforms business, where he worked across strategy, M&A, partner growth, and new product incubation. Over the course of his career, he has helped build and scale businesses ranging from ventures he co-founded to private equity-backed companies and Fortune 500 business units, consistently operating where product, strategy, go-to-market, and execution meet. He enjoys building teams, shaping new product bets, and tackling the hard problems that sit just ahead of where the market is today.
Ian holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from Yale University. He lives in Denver with his wife, two daughters, and a mountain-loving dog, and spends his free time skiing, mountain biking, and hiking.
